Brian comes home from his trip to California TODAY! It was weird being in the house without him and I can’t wait to pick him up at the airport after work. It’s been a while since we were apart like this, and it gave me crazy flashbacks to our college years when we were a couple hours apart all the time.
Not that I’m needy or anything…
But, yeah, I’m ready for him to come home.

This whole snow-in-May thing is making me reminisce about our honeymoon. Warm breezes and fresh mountain air.
It’s May! Time for parties in the field and fresh air. Just as soon as we get past this last cold front…

Universal Everything (UK studio) motion-captured a dancer to make this animation, which is projected onto the world’s highest-resolution screen.
This video calls to mind the grace and simplicity of flow, which I have been feeling by the bucketful lately.

I don’t know when the flow concept was first explained to me, but I’ve been conscious and watchful for it ever since. Flow is tricky - you can’t force it, fake it, or pin it down. It’s that magic that happens when you’re totally present, totally energized, and totally enjoying what you’re doing.
With my new job, I feel flow every day. What a blessing, right? I finally have the right balance and focus to feel challenged, successful, creative and productive all at once. My team is incredible, the culture is a perfect fit, and I honestly wouldn’t complain about a thing.
When you’ve got a good thing going, you should celebrate it, right? Cheers, y’all!
This weekend = grilling + yard work + sundress + bonfire + brunch + friends
Finally spring :)
I saw a fox this morning!
This might not seem really significant, but I have ALWAYS wanted to see a fox in real life. Somehow it just hadn’t ever happened, even though I grew up in Minnesota and I’ve traveled all over to places where I’m sure foxes live. And this morning, in the field near our house, there was this big fat fox with some animal in his mouth just running along. He was bigger than I thought he’d be, and I was so surprised and excited I froze and stared at him for a minute until he disappeared into the trees.
My life has become a series of animal spottings that make me much happier than most people would think reasonable :)
This is what the frogs out back sound like at night. It’s dark and pixelated, but you can hear them loud and clear :)
